Networked Hardware Security

Internet-of-Things Communications

An increasing number of network-connected devices are materializing with increasing capability. They have privacy, and thus personal security, implications for humans and other devices that interact with them. 0KN is building hardware to address these concerns.

0KN enables networked hardware devices to be deployed within Zero-Trust environments with verifiable indicators for the integrity of communication security and privacy. Devices maintain their physical and internal security, and can self-destruct or otherwise render themselves inoperable if this attribute, core to their nature, is ever compromised. Thus humans and/or other machines may interact with them, with confidence that their privacy is secured. Furthermore, the human-machine interactions themselves in terms of what data is transmitted may use the latest in cryptographic technologies to ensure absolute security.

Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks

Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks, or DePIN, are blockchain networks that use tokens to incentivise communities (not corporations) to build physical infrastructure networks. Conceptually may be considered a subset within the larger IoT industry of networked things specifically within the context of Web3 meets real-world assets. 0KN brings a next level of network privacy and security to these devices including decentralized reward opportunities for providers of such physical utility.

Potential applications include:

  • decentralized telecommunications
  • electrical vehicle charging stations
  • mobility such as car or bike on-demand rentals

DePIN Subcategories

Physical Resource Networks (PRNs) incentivize people to direct or deploy location-dependent hardware to offer real-world,
non-fungible goods and
services. Examples include mobility, energy or connectivity.

Digital Resource Networks (DRNs) incentivize people to direct or deploy hardware to offer fungible, digital resources. Examples include storage, bandwidth or compute networks.
